Steps to play Fruit Ninja!

play.png

  1. Play the game. Once the app is installed, it’s time to unleash the ninja in you. This isn’t just about swiping your fingers from left to right or waving your arms up in the air, it requires accuracy, speed, and right timing. There are combo hits that can add up points as you continue.
  • Try not to miss a fruit! Three fruits missed, the game ends. It is crucial to slice all the fruits to proceed to the next level.

boom.png

  1. Avoid the bombs. Bombs are occasionally thrown out of the screen, once sliced and mistaken to be a fruit the game ends.
  • Use your ears! Listening carefully is one of your weapons. The sound is an ally. Once the hissing noise is heard, it means there is a bomb coming.
  • In the arcade mode, slicing a bomb is not a big deal. It will not end your game. Just avoid it as much as you can because doing so will give you an additional ten point bonus at the end of the game if all bombs were avoided.

  1. Know the modes. Aside from the usual hack and slash mode, there are different types of modes that you can also choose from in Fruit Ninja.
  • We have what we call Zen mode in which players are allowed to achieve high scored without bombs appearing on the screen but it is time pressure. Players are given a minute and thirty seconds to slice as many fruits as they can.
  • In Arcade mode, players are given sixty seconds to achieve a high score. Bananas which are equivalent to different unique bonuses are added up to this mode such as doubling the points that the player already scored for a limited time, increasing the amount of fruit thrown on the screen and slowing the phase of the fruit being thrown on the screen.
  • In Classic mode, pomegranates are occasionally thrown on the screen which allows the player to slice it up multiple times to earn extra points.

4. Unlock extra stuff. Fruit Ninja is a great game for children and adults. It has the low learning curve and one of those games that you can truly say you enjoy while you’re actually doing challenging tasks. Once you master the game, you can now unlock some extra blades and background wallpapers.

Unlockable items usually become available after completing certain achievements. They may also differ between versions.

The ultimate beginner’s guide to Fruit Ninja

In Fruit Ninja, the player slices fruit with a blade controlled via the touchscreen. As the fruit is thrown onto the screen, the player swipes their finger across the screen to create a slicing motion, attempting to slice the fruit in half. Extra points are awarded for slicing multiple fruits with one swipe (called “combo”s), and players can use additional fingers to make multiple slices simultaneously. Players must slice all fruit; if three fruits are missed, the game ends, (Unless Calligraphy Brush is used) but upon reaching scores that are multiples of one hundred (i.e. 100, 200, 300, etc.), the player will gain an extra life (unless they have not missed a piece of fruit already). Bombs are occasionally thrown onto the screen, and will also end the game should the player slice them. (Unless Bomb deflects are used).

What surprises me most about Fruit Ninja? The laser precision of the controls. Really, Fruit Ninja is more exact than many Wii games. Your swipes are accurately registered, allowing you to slice through fruit with real precision. This makes giant combos easy, as you slash your finger directly through the heart of several fruits just as their trajectories intersect. On both a concept and technical level, Fruit Ninja is top notch.

Online Versus

Multiplayer Mode is a game mode included on mobile devices such as the iPod. It enables players to play against other people in the world with a click of a button. Rounds in Multiplayer Mode last one minute. The Multiplayer Mode lobby features an auto-match feature that will automatically connect you to a player doing the same thing. It also includes an ‘Invite Friend’ option, where you can invite friends to play against you.

Graphics

Let’s be honest here; if you are looking for an app that will blow you away with groundbreaking 3D renders and photo-realistic environments, Fruit Ninja is not the game for you. The fruit itself is great, brightly colored and nicely detailed, with pips and all appearing when you slice it open. It’s a similar story with the bombs.

Where the game is really let down is in the simple details. The wooden ‘dojo’ background is blocky and pixelated and the ‘Game Over’ text is such a low resolution – it had me wondering if I had something wrong with my Phone! It may be a style choice, but in my mind, it is a wrong one. Maybe it’s inexperience on the platform, I don’t know but hopefully, a future update will address the problem.

All that said, I still love the game. Platforms such as the Phone and Wii have brought true gameplay back to an industry that for years was obsessed with graphics only. Playing Fruit Ninja reminded me that gameplay is still king.

Fruit Ninja Frenzy Force: Meet the ninjas!

NINJA force.PNG

Halfbrick Studios’ wildly successful Fruit Ninja mobile game and turning it into an original animated series for YouTube Red. What do you do with Gutsu and Truffles? How do you decide to introduce Sensei and his Fruit Facts? And how do you take all the slicing and dicing action away from the player and put it into the capable hands of a group of young ninjas?

Enter Fruit Ninja: Frenzy Force, the super-silly and action-packed animated series from the very same studio that created the game. Halfbrick’s first foray into the world of cartoons follows the humble beginnings of four Fruit Ninjas–Seb, Niya, Peng, and Ralph–who run a juice stand as a front for their secret ninja dojo. The ninjas, who have been training to unlock the ancient secrets of Juice-Jitsu, work together to take down a rotating cast of evil characters who have pledged to wipe out the Fruit Ninjas once and for all.

Seb

Seb is an honorable, goofy, and courageous young guy with a secret – he’s come into possession of an ancient and incomplete scroll that delineates the long-forgotten Martial Art: Juice Jitsu. As the emotional core of his group, Seb feels like the scrolls have spoken directly to his sense of honor and love of adventure and dedicate all of his efforts to prove himself worthy of The Way of Juice Jitsu. Of course, he’s only got an incomplete set of scrolls, so Seb’s training is incomplete… which leads to hilarious gaps in his knowledge!

Seb is the unspoken leader of the Frenzy Force gang, and when they bicker, fight, compete, prank and proclaim themselves the best, he reminds them of the fact that they are the future of the Fruit Ninjas. So when push comes to shove and shove comes to a tornado ax kick, Seb is able to coax these three to put aside their petty disputes and become a mighty force of fruity fury!

Niya

Niya is a super-focused modern girl. She does it all, usually before lunch! She has no time for the pettiness of her peers, but she does like a challenge and kicking butt with the other Ninjas. She is driven – maybe too much – and does not always think before she acts.

Niya lives her life by a strict timetable of her own design, but while he’s equally inspired and repelled by her overly-managed existence, Seb knows that in an emergency when she breaks away from her schedule, he has a true friend. Of course, she’ll take over the fruit stand and franchise it tomorrow if he ever shows the slightest weakness!

Ralph

Standing taller than the rest of his fellow ninjas and brandishing a large ax and shield, Ralph is the powerhouse of the team, always leaving a trail of destruction, juice, and pulp in his wake.

Despite his skills in demolition, Ralph ’s the kind of guy no one can hate.  He operates from a strong sense of justice, always bravely putting the mission ahead of his own wellbeing. While not the brightest banana in the bunch, Ralph possesses a simple wisdom that often escapes his conventionally clever teammates.

Whenever Seb, Niya, and Peng get sidetracked by overcomplicated plans, grand ambitions, or personal glory, it’s usually Ralph who brings them down to earth with some common sense in the form of a single sentence, smoothie or slice. Sometimes Ralph feels as though he’s not keeping up with his more cunning companions, but they wouldn’t have him any other way.  Despite his occasional, impassioned misjudgments, Ralph ’s strength, courage, and good nature make him an invaluable member of the Fruit Ninja team.

Peng

The personification of a sugar rush, Peng’s energetic aura, and unbreakable spirit make him the unpredictable wildcard of the bunch. Peng is Seb’s best friend and pocket-sized wingman. While not super-focused, he manages to charm his way into any situation. Peng represents the comedy relief of the four and will be the first to ram his head through a wall – just to see if he can. When he’s not narrowly avoiding disaster by the skin (or peel?) of his teeth, he can usually be seen on his phone, on his phone, or on his phone.

Despite his nincompoopery, Peng has lots of heart that makes up for his lack of foresight. While he likely didn’t listen to a word you said, he’ll do whatever he does with a one-hundred-and-ten-percent effort. Peng’s lack of risk-calculation skills means he is the guy who is up for everything.

Sensei

We’re not sure what his actual name is, but there is one thing we’re sure of, and that is that the only living Fruit Ninja Sensei is a kook! Turning the traditional “wise old sensei” stereotype on its ear, our Sensei is a bit of a wild card. He tests Seb and the Ninjas by showing up to the fruit stand in very poor disguises, sending them on missions and helping them along the way. Not that he’d ever admitted it, but it seems Sensei is learning as much from the kids as they are from him.

This modern Sensei bears a striking resemblance to the Sensei of Katsuro, Mari, Han and Nobu’s time. However, being that there’s no way someone could live for over a thousand years, he couldn’t possibly be the same guy, right? RIGHT?!

conclusion

It’s listed as the top game in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.  If you haven’t played it already chances are you’ve heard of it. Fruit Ninja is one of the most talked about mobile games this side of Angry Birds. Ridiculously simple to play and as addicting as all get-out, Fruit Ninja is a favorite of adults and kids alike.

There is a lot of hype around Fruit Ninja, and without a doubt, it is one of the best all-around games in the Marketplace.
